Rules for Optimal Usage
- Upload a clear, well-lit photo of the coin’s obverse (front side). You can optionally include the reverse as well.
- Center the coin in the image and avoid visual clutter in the background.
- For best results, photograph the coin against a plain contrasting background.
What You Get Back
- The tool uses AI to identify nearly any coin type and year based on the uploaded image(s), although occasional mistakes are possible.
- Interesting facts about the coin’s historical context, rarity, and design will be provided.
- If the coin is identified as a U.S. Half Cents, Cents, Two and Three Cents, Nickels, Half Dimes, Dimes, Twenty Cents, Quarters, Half Dollars, and Dollars, the tool will provide an estimated value range in both circulated and uncirculated condition, if that data is available in the database.
- For non-U.S. coins or less common denominations, the identification and historical information will still be returned, but valuation data may not be available.
By following the image guidelines and providing high-quality, focused photos of your coin, this free tool aims to quickly identify your U.S. coin and provide an estimated market valuation to assist with your collecting, buying or selling efforts. The AI detection accuracy improves with good quality input images.
